The Parish of Spaniard’s Bay
HistoryIn May 1891, The Holy Redeemer Church in Spaniard’s Bay was consecrated to replace the older Church of The Holy Trinity. It is an attractive building which has retained most of its original look over the years. It has been adorned with stained glass and stands as a landmark in the area. Local people handcrafted the pulpit, lectern and prayer desks. A Foster and Andrews pipe organ was installed in 1913. The instrument fell into disrepair and was refurbished in 1994 and is used for most services. The Church is well cared for and dearly loved by the congregation. The Church of All Saints in Tilton was consecrated in November 1905. It seats about 90 people comfortably. All Saint’s has been well kept over the years and looks younger than her age through ongoing renovations to the pews, flooring and so on. Another major renovation included the installment of a stained glass window above the altar. Older aspects of the Church however still remain, such as the antique Oil lamps (which were used at a special service a few years back) as reminders of All Saints rich heritage. As part of plans for the Centennial, a choir formed in the Fall of 2004. All Saints, small in size and rich in heart.
